Total image optimization savings on my entire site were only about 1Mb so I decided to “use original images” option in the “image optimization” page.

After I activated “use original images” option I saw a confirmation message, but nowhere in any status screens my choice is shown. So I am never sure if original or optimized images are actually used.

Is the switch to “use original images” momentary or latching?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    the action should be instantaneous

you can use dev tool to check and compare the image size before and after

So the LScache DOES NOT permanently revert to original images?

I need to REVERT to the original images and see the status somewhere in the dashboard. There is no status of “original images” reverting anywhere to be seen.

if you want to permanently revert , you need to use button “destory all optimized data” , assuming you did not remove the original backup

How do I know if original images are used or optimized images are used???

There is no status shown anywhere.

Do you say that the function “revert to original images” does not actually work in LScache plugin and there is no way of using the plugin to find out what is going on??

yes , currently there is no indicator in GUI to show if it’s set to optm image or original image

but it’s good point , I will forward to our dev and ask them to add one

another quick way to verify is check the file name

    and then

Using file manager does not determine which files are actually served

    (@qtwrk)

it does , if you see bk.optm. , this means it is using the original files

if you see .bk. , this means it is using optm’ed files

My complaint is that “use original images” option in the “image optimization” page DOES NOT WORK.

You advised me to “destroy all optimized data”, to achieve this remember? I just want to toggle between original images (that I optimized myself) with LScache optimized images and see the status somewhere in LScache plugin.

LScache lists such function, but it does not work if I need to also “destroy all optimized data”

when you click “use original images” , the something.bk.jpg will be renamed into something.jpg as the original files , and optimized file will be renamed into something.bk.optm.jpg to keep the optimized files but not being used.

it works, just not having a GUI indicator to tell if currently using optm’ed or original , that’s what I said about check file directly to see if they are something.bk.jpg or something.bk.optm.jpg

Can we please get GUI indicator to see what is actually going on?

LScache file naming conventions are not documented clearly. What is your reason for making Users wasting their time to explore undocumented filename schemes in filemanager? Isn’t GUI indicator simpler for everyone?

yes, that’s what I said that I will ask our devs to add one
