Use of returns to create height in content component

What CSS did you edit? I’m a little confused as to what the issue is. We have made zero edits to CSS for the content component. Most components dont even have any CSS. It’s up to the theme

What’s happening is, I enter those returns inside the aesop shortcodes to create height, but the editot doesn’t save them anymore??! they’re gone when I reopen the post…

What do you mean by “enter those returns” ?

No, wait, the editor DOES save them now. But all through my post my hard returns have been nixed!

hard return is that you would call a line break ??

So the formatting of your post is off?

Aesop Story Engine has nothing to do with the formatting of your post.

You likely switched over into “visual” mode, which inserted linebreaks. This is what WordPress does in visual mode (and fwiw, the reason why I personally never use visual mode).

I used line breaks all over the place to ‘create height’ because in the content component, oftentimes, the tag ‘height=”400″ doesn’t do anything.

in the code above, the tag height=”600″ does not make a box of 600px. adding the px changes nothing either.

SO i used line breaks to manually create height…. *pant pant*

now I have to re-enter all those line breaks.

The content component doesn’t have a height attribute, nor is it documented.

Yeas the formatting is off, but

1) it went off spontaneously

2) I’d much rather not have to use line breaks to create height in content components, but the tag ‘height’ itself isn’t working for me… it does nothing….

But then they shouldn’t be dissappearing in my editor like this, should they???

I still have to go by every content component (which I use everywhere in the post, it’s great – and re-enter those line breaks…

that is a drag, and feels unreliable. how do I prevent this from happening again?

Honestly I’m not sure Boris. This is WordPress formatting. What I do know is that this doesn’t have anything to do with Aesop Story Engine, at all.
