Use numeric entities instead of named entities?

  • I serve my site as XHTML/XML, in which named entities such as » «   etc. aren’t valid, and so the numeric equivalents &#187 &#171 &#160 etc. must be used instead.

    How do I get WordPress to use the numeric entities instead of named entities?
