I’m using my site as an intranet for our organization. As such, I’m hoping to use MailPoet to distribute company wide information.

One such emails that goes out is when we hire a new employee, an employee is promoted, or an employee leaves the company. Every employee has a profile on our site with additional meta data.

Is there way to create a mail template that has merge tags that would be dynamically filled with an employee’s information? Maybe a page that would allow HR to select an employees name from a drop down (dynamically created by listing all users) and then submit/send that would email off to a distribution group?

Or if there’s a way to leverage a shortcode to create a submit button on a user’s profile page that would trigger these emails.

    Hi there @csccpud,

While there are shortcodes that can be used in emails to display the subscriber’s/user’s information and custom fields (i.e. of the recipient), there is nothing built-in in the MailPoet plugin to handle those other points you mentioned. In other words, there’s no built-in functionality to select an employee and send out emails about that employee to a specific list — it would be necessary to manually add any information about the employee in the email, and then send it out. Alternatively, you could create a custom shortcode to display employee information, and then use that: https://kb.mailpoet.com/article/160-create-a-custom-shortcode

Similarly, adding a button to user profile pages to trigger emails about them would not be possible by default, and would require some custom development. For assistance with custom development, we recommend reaching out to one of the vetted developers at Codeable.io: https://codeable.io

Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you!
