    I have no ideas that it would somehow interfere with Chinese accessibility.

    As to slowing down your site, best to just try and see what comes out. Thousands of people are using this plugin and there isn’t much concern that I can see about performance. You can also turn on/off individual features as you need to optimize your performance.
