Use in a multisite environment

  • Hi folks,

    I use a multisite installation where I run services on different instances. Now it would be handy to have a way to loop on the main instance in the context of another instance (identified by the site id).

    Would there possibly be an extension of the loop command?

    Hi Besim,

    This likely won’t be something we look into in the short term because of the inherent permission/security issues that it would create (you wouldn’t want subsite admins/editors to be able to pull in data from other sites on the network).
    Our plugin would literally be banned from the repo if we launched the feature as you described it.
    We have ideas of how we can handle looping content from one site to the next securely (on multisite or even between individual sites) so it will eventually be possible but I can’t provide an estimate as to when.
