Before Yoast, I used All in One SEO. There’s a nice feature: Use Featured image as default Open Graph Image if editors didn’t choose it. This tiny function is very good for editors, because they won’t lost waste time to select again the Facebook image in post editor.

    See this link: https://prnt.sc/ps1mmz

    Does Yoast have this feature?

There is a priority of what image a page will use for the Open Graph/Facebook image that depends on whether you have featured images in the post, whether you set a default image for Facebook in the plugin settings, and whether you have selected a custom Facebook image for a particular page or post. The priority of what image takes preference is as follows:
    ?

?? If there is no image set for the Yoast meta box for Facebook, it will use the post’s featured image
? If there’s no featured image in the post, it uses the default image set in SEO > Social > Facebook
? If there’s no default image set, it will use one of the images from the post itself
