Try the default theme (see FAQ100 on the plugin support page). If it works on the default theme but not Customizr, your theme probably isn’t properly calling the WP avatar function. Only 1 out of ~100 themes I’ve ever seen don’t show the avatars properly.

Thanks, I tried the default theme (Twenty Fourteen) but it’s not working either.
What else can cause this?

And with all your other plugins disabled?

I can’t do that, my site is live and is getting many visitors. I don’t want to shut it down unless i absolutely have to.
By the way, I Recently added bbPress forums and the Facebook Avatar is working very well in the forums. So it’s just the comments.
I have to mention that I checked the issue with Twenty Fourteen on “preview” mode because I didn’t want to change the site theme to my visitors. does this matter?

Yes, it matters. See FAQ#102.

I opened a new wordpress site – with all the plugins and the same theme. Everything works just fine. Not a clone but the same skeleton…
So I put my site in maintenance mode, changed theme and checked again but the avatar was not working.
So I guess I somehow made something to the site that I don’t remember doing. I tried to uninstall my theme and re-install it but it didn’t help.

Anyway, your plugin seems to work just fine on a new wordpress installation so I guess there’s nothing more for us to do here.

I found the problem today… so now it is Truly RESOLVED.
There is a “Jetpack” feature called “Jetpack comments”. This feature causes the conflict!
Turning it off solves the problem.

By the way – what about WP-Google+-AutoConnect?
