Use Existing Media Library

I am wondering why/when the slider will incorporate the ability to use existing graphic elements from the media library, i.e. I have already uploaded and SEO’d a number of featured images at a size of 250px by 250px and it seems a waste to have to re-upload all of these files, just for use in the slider.
