Use directly "Large Size" as 2X of "Medium Size"?

    Hello,

    My “Large Size” images are already exactly the double of my “Medium Size” images. And I use only “Medium Size” images in my posts. Can WP Retina 2x reference directly my “Large Size” images instead of generating its own 2X versions of “Medium Size”?

    In other words, I want 1X to reference “Medium Size” and 2X to reference “Large Size”, and I don’t want generation done by WP Retina 2x.

    Is this possible?

    It is possible but very tricky to do. To make it work perfectly I would need to write a lot of code to check that the Large Size is actually twice the Medium in reality too (to have it set-up in WordPress is one thing).

    Another problem is that it is easy and super fast to look for the @2x version of a file. No database call required, just a simple syntax check.
