Use custom taxonomy instead of UPG-Post Albums

Hello. To avoid double work, I would like to point to a custom taxonomy I’m using instead of UPG-Post Albums. Is there a way I could somehow indicate such with something like, 'taxonomies' => array( 'location' ),?
