Use Custom Excerpt?

    Could the plug-in be modified to display a page’s custom excerpt (post feature support added to page via functions.php) instead of trimmed text excerpt? Thank you for any suggestions.

    You can write a custom template displaying content any way you want, and then just tell the inserted page to use your template:
    [insert page='your-page' display='your-template.php']
