Since my users are from all over the world, it would be nice to use the viewer’s current location (browser permission required), or by grabbing their IP and using the location associated with its WHOIS info.

    Hi samuraiprojects,
your suggestion is valid, and it might be implemented in future versions.

Of course (in theory) it’s better to show individual weather forecast for each user, but in reality – when you think about it – users are fed up with web sites asking for permissions to allow web plugins to function (flash, silverlight…), permissions for browsers to send notifications, (infamous) cookies permissions, video ads permissions etc.

Asking permission from user to allow browser to share geolocation is just one more nuisance – deteriorating site’s UX.

At this moment we’re keeping it simple for web masters (limiting setup options) and users (not asking for any action for weather forecast to function)

    Hi samuraiprojects,

An updated version (1.1.0) with users ability to choose weather location is released.

Why choosing a location from a drop-down is a better solution than geolocation?
