Use As Featured Image Link Gets Stuck On Saving…

  • I’m finding this problem in the forums with other WP users but no consistent answer. After installing the plug-in NextGEN Gallery, I was no longer able to use the “Use As Featured Image” link, after clicking, you just see “saving…” with no result of a saved featured image on posts or pages. I deactivated the plugin NextGEN Gallery and the problem remained. I developed this site with my own custom child theme from Thematic. No other posts addressing this problem seem solved, can someone help me and others?

  • I am not experiencing this with WP3.4.1, and latest version of NextGen…it may be theme, other plugin, or host environment related…to test deactivate all plugins and switch to default unedited theme, then only activate NextGen and test…if not review image requirements and size with host.

    Me too. I am using wowway theme, using featured image is stuck hanging on “saving…” It was working fine until I installed a buch of slider plugins including NextGEN. I removed all plugins and overwrote all files for w-p admin and w-p includes and also overwrote template files except images and CSS.

    Thank you for the responses, I can see this is not a unique problem. So, to start, we need to find out if it is the hosting environment or the theme’s coding or the plugin. I deactivated NextGen Gallery and the problem persisted. And, even testing on a default theme, the problem persisted. But, I know that the problem started after I installed NextGEN. I build my own child theme from Thematic, so it may be the functions I created? I am a cut and paste php coder, so when I’ve made an error in the php, I don’t know how to fix it. If someone would like to view my functions.php file, I can send it to you. Or, if it is the hosting environment, I don’t what to say to the host. You know shared hosting, they are not going to get in your files and fix it for you. All they say to me, is “what errors are you seeing?” When I tell them it is an internal error in WordPress, they don’t know what to do either.
