Hi everyone. I am New and i am Italian.
I built in local my own theme from scratch. I have a problem though.
When i look for some specific woocommerce product it is not shown the product in the shop page but it is show as an article.
Then i also bought a plug in called wheel and tyre, that allow me to categorize them and look for them with its specific widget tool.
If i use it, it comes out all the existing product. So doesn’t work.
The good news is that if i switch to Twenty_Ninetheen theme for example both the product research and the plug-in wheell and tyre work as they should.
So it is clear that my theme lack of something.
Can you help me with that?
Thank you.. Bye Bye from Italy.

    Hi @phelps1990,

Writing a custom theme from scratch is a great way to learn about theme development but obviously, it may not be as polished and hardened to be used for a production quality store. I would recommend considering some standard themes like StoreFront https://www.woocommerce.com/storefront/ which is free of cost for you.

Now in case you have specific queries regarding your custom theme please feel to ask here along with providing more information that may be useful in helping you.

    Cheers!

Thank you for your answer. Storefront it could be also a great free theme but it doesn’t fits with the style I want.
Anyway has I explained above when I search woocommerce product in my theme, the product found do not appear as a product in the store but like an article with an anchor tag to open.
If I use search product in storefront or twenty-nineteen theme or shop-isle the product pops out like a real product in the store with the thumbnail ,name , price , add to cart.. it is clear that this research remain in the shop page and doesn’t go out of it.. hope to have explained it well. Thank you

    Hi @phelps1990,

It sounds like when using a default theme like Storefront, the product search works as intended. Since you say you are using a custom theme, you could compare the code with your theme and the Storefront theme to see what is wrong or missing. Or, you could use one of the default themes and create a child theme from it and customize it as much as you want from that theme. Here’s information on how to create a child theme: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/set-up-and-use-a-child-theme/

    Hope that helps!

Thank you for your answer.. Yes the solution to use a child theme and then customize it it had to be the best option.
I think i will go for this one the next time i create a personal theme. Thank you also for sharing the link… Bye bye
