    Hi,

    thanks for your post.

Yes, this is possible with the TablePress Auto Update Extension. This allows you to periodically import tables from a file on the server or a URL. I haven’t yet had the time to add this to the TablePress website, so here are some details about the installation:

First, download the current development version of TablePress from https://tablepress.org/download/tablepress-dev.zip, extract it, and replace the folder on your server with this new one.
Then, download https://tablepress.org/download/extension/tablepress-table-auto-update.zip and install and activate that as a regular WordPress plugin.
After that, the “Import” screen in TablePress will have a new section for the auto import. There, you can configure the auto update process for each table, and also set how often you want this to happen.

    Regards,
    Tobias

Thanks so much for the quick response. It works as advertised! The only issue for my implementation is that it looks like the tables need to be setup in advance. Is there any way to add a new table automatically?

    Hi,

great to hear that this worked.

And yes, tables need to exist in TablePress before this can be used. This should be too much of a problem though, as you can either do that by manually adding them via the “Add table” button, or simply do the first import of the tables manually. If you put all CSV files in a ZIP archive and import that, this is done very quickly.
To use a table, you’ll have to add its Shortcode to a post or page anyway, so this is really only just a small one-time task.

    Tobias

HI Tobias, Will this setup also work with Google Spreadsheet generated csv?

Could have tried it myself of course… I’m happy to say it works!

    Great plugin!!!!

    Thanks

    Hi,

    thanks for your question!

Yes, as long as Google Spreadsheets generates a CSV file that adheres to the standard (if you want to call the CSV standard a “standard”), that should not be a problem.
But as I see, you’ve already found out ??

    Best wishes,
    Tobias

P.S.: In case you haven’t, please rate TablePress here in the plugin directory. Thanks!

    Hi Tobais,

Does the AutoUpdate plugin work with version 1.1.1 or do I need the development version for it to work?

    Thank you.

    Hi,

the Auto Update Extension works with version 1.1.1 just fine (in fact, the development version that is mentioned above is the same ?? )
