Hey guys. My theme doesn’t allow me to edit the category templates, and it strips my podcast player out of the excerpts. That causes the feed validation to fail, because the category the episodes are under only show excerpts in the feed.
I would like to use multiple category pages for different shows, but since that is impossible with current theme, I am creating individual show pages and then using a category query. This looks ok, but how do I use a Page instead of a Category in Category Feeds? Thanks so much for your help.

As far as the media players being stripped from your category entries, you can try going to PowerPress >> Settings, Advanced Mode >> Website (if you’re using PowerPress 7.0, Media Appearance if you’re using a pervious version) >> Having issues? and try the different options in the dropdown menu. Perhaps one of these options will get things to display as you want.

PowerPress only works with WordPress posts, not pages. There may be some other plugin that can help automate your process, but there’s nothing built into PowerPress that does this.

rooly, WordPress themes should have no impact on the feeds. Can you reply with the category feed URL that does not validate?

Do not use feedvlidator.org. FeedValidator.org hasn’t updated in over 8 years, it does not even recongize the iTunes specifications that were released in 2012. When you are validating feeds please use a servce that is up to date such as https://www.castfeedvalidator.com.
