• I need to protect the identity of my users (vulnerable adults), so I’d like to have site urls that are less like
    blogs.iddeaarts.com/bobjones/
    and more like
    blogs.iddeaarts.com/p34l56/
    or site names
    blogs.iddeaarts.com/thepenandtheprocessor

Is it possible to do this?

    Thanks,
    Mark, IDDea Arts

  • if you choose the username field as p34l56 and Display name publicly as name as p34l56 then it should do what you want.

Thanks sham! But the problem is if users use their full names for their usernames. Then their name will be in the url. I’d like to use their Site name in the URL instead. I got a long day ahead of me – maybe I can find where the URL is created in the code and tweak it.

Oh, that p3i46 or whatever just meant a randomized URL address.

I’ve used the SF Author Url Control plugin for this very thing.

It’s not randomized (that I’m aware of), but once you install the plugin, you can give each user a unique “profile url slug” of your choosing.
