Usability: Add a timer to the “page has been updated” popup in the editor
-
Every time I update the page in the Gutenberg editor it pops a pale green “page has been updated” (sorry if that’s not exactly the text, in Finnish it’s “Sivu on p?ivitetty. N?yt? sivu”) block on the page.
This popup stays there and *blocks the editor menu* unless you scroll to the top or click X. Even if I edit the page content, it still stays there – happily telling me the page has been updated (even though I’ve made edits on it and not hit the update button).
So I suggest A) a timer (10s for ex) to make it go away automatically or when the user has made modifications to the content and B) make it not overlay the editor menu, but rather be positioned over it. Or at least make it possible to close it by clicking it anywhere in the popup itself.
This is a UI-snafu (very annoying to click the “X” every time I make an edit to the page) *and* offers the users incorrect information (as it doesn’t go away after editing the page).
I feel the new editor is unintuitive enough without blatantly bad UI decisions like this. I already mouse over my user info in the right upper corner and have *that* popup block the update button half the time when aiming for the button.
