urls for blog post end in alph numeric jibberish instead of title

I have discovered that the URL’s of my blog posts end in an alphanumeric nonsense. I specifically set up the static pages of the connected website for “pretty permalinks” Where and how do I set up the blog posts so that the title shows up in the URL – This is all about SEO. Thanks
