• Hello,

    Firstly, thanks for a great product!

    My problem is something I am sure someone can solve quickly, it is related to Rewrite I think.

    I have my website at https://www.domainname.ca and I have it set to write the URLS as domainname.ca/topic/ etc.

    I have a folder on the server called portfolio, but when I visit this URL, I am given the WordPress Page Not Found Page.

    What or how can allow specific URL’s to go to their true locations rather than the mod rewrite managed URLs?

    WordPress Install: https://www.bluewind.ca
    Normal HTML Content: https://www.bluewind.ca/portfolio

    Any helps or directions are greatly appreciated.

    Cheers,

    Brent Lee

  • Q: do you have subfolder AND a WP Page with the same name (portfolio)?

    No.

    Nothing in wordpress with portfoio at all. I have it on my navigation just pointing at the bluewind.ca/portfolio URL.

    I have my permalinks set to Day and Time…

    –B

    I am still confused because this one works:
    https://www.bluewind.ca/moodle/
    and it is definitely not a WP related subfolder… so the /portfolio should work as well, unless there is a Page with the same name that is redirected to the portfolio subdir.

    Ya. That is what I was thinking too!

    That Moodle system was installed prior to WordPress… and it arguably has its on subdomain moodle.bluewind.ca too….

    Does Modwrite htaccess file allow for changes? I know I see this one in my HTaccess file now:

    RewriteEngine on

    # BEGIN WordPress
    <IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteBase /
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
    RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
    </IfModule>

    # END WordPress

    RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^.*$
    RewriteRule ^ce$ “http\:\/\/www\.bluewind\.ca\/moodle” [R=301,L]

    So I added a new directory called in Guides, and if I visit bluewind.ca/guides. same thing…

    You will need some htaccess guru for further help… sorry.
    All I know is that I have WP based sites that have non-WP subfolders and they all work.
