url_to_postid does not work on homepage

I’m trying to get information about the page that the user is on by using url_to_postid. However, it doesn’t work on the page I’ve set to be my Theme Homepage. It returns 0.

I’ve tried resetting permalinks to see if that made a difference but that didn’t work.
