I have a site for sell photo, only digital support.
I’m using EDD plug. I saw that the pro version is enabled to work with EDD ( i test the free version but don’t work).
The url of the image full size (background image) must not be public, or display by browser tools for webdevelopers, otherwise it is possible save the image without paying.
If you confirm that the image full size is hidden, i can buy this plugin.
    Thank
    Lorenzo

The zoom works by creating an overlay with a bigger image on top of the displayed image. If the bigger image is in a protected folder, then it simply cannot work.

The only way you can work around this is by creating a watermarked image for the zoom. So in the end it will be something like:

    – the small image (e.g. 300px – watermarked)
    – medium size image (e.g. 500px – watermarked) for creating the zoom
    – full size image (e.g. 1024px – not watermarked) for selling

    Ok Thanks!
But if i just upload some image without this plugin, it is a problem, or i can apply this also at image just upload!?
    Thanks

If you want to apply the zoom to an image that is not uploaded through the EDD plugin, that should work just fine. There are no restrictions there.

    Sorry, i want to know:
if i have images already upload in media file, and activate the premium plugin now, the full size images already exist on site will go in the protected folder!? Such as those that upload after.
    Thanks

WP Image Zoom plugin doesn’t care if the images were uploaded before the plugin’s activation or after.

When you go to “Downloads -> Add New”, you will see several sections. Everything from the “Download Files” section will go into the protected folder. WP Image Zoom has nothing to do with that. On the right side of the screen you’ll see the “Featured Image” section. That is the photo that will be shown on the presentation page and that photo will be zoomed.

In order for the zoom to work, you have to upload in the “Featured Image” section an image bigger than the image presented (e.g. 300px wide the presented image, 500px wide the uploaded image). If you don’t want to show to your users the bigger image (the 500px wide image from the previous example), then I recommend you watermark it.

I hope I understood correctly this time and this answers your question.

The protected folder is created by EDD. You can find it under /wp-content/uploads/edd/.
