Yes, I don’t understand it either.

I need somebody to give me access to an installation where this is happening; if anybody in this thread is willing, I’d greatly appreciate it. I’ve mounted several different sites with the plug-in without managing to generate the issue yet, which is preventing me from being able to trace it at all.

If you’re willing, please submit a support request from the plug-in’s Help screen. Thank you. Going crazy here…

It’s gone back the other way now with the shortcode now having disappeared. Very confusing indeed!

I am using the Yourls URL shortener with your plugin and also having the same problem. Although it seems to work fine when doing a test.

@joedolson: Unfortunately I can’t give you admin access right now. We reverted to 3.2.4 as I mentioned earlier, and can’t afford to update back to 3.2.5 with our current publishing regime (15+ posts per day). That would be a lot of ugly links.

Hopefully one of the other sites can help you with admin access.

I believe I may have a solution to this. Still testing, but will get a new release out as soon as possible.

The fix is already committed to trunk, if you want to try the development version.

Thank you for working on this, Joe! I am leery to give you access to my site, as I’m about to leave for SXSW and I’m trying to keep things as stable as possible.

I’ve released the update; so give it a try and let me know if it works.

Truly, I understand – I don’t really *want* access to anybody’s site, it’s just challenging fixing problems I can’t reproduce.

I did, however, managed to reproduce this problem, finally. I don’t know for sure that everybody is having the same issue; but releasing a fix that fixes some people’s problems is still worth releasing!

I’ve installed the update to production and keep you in the loop. Waiting for the next articles to come online.

I’ll pick the update back up in the morning – we’re done posting for the day and I’ll be very interested to see if your Tweets come through @jeanpaulh!

I believe I can honestly say this is fixed now (at least for us). We’ve had several published posts – either previously pending or newly published – which have the correct (yourls based) shorturl again.

Thank you so much for fixing this Joe and for your perseverance. Happy to be a Pro user ??

Hmm, still not working… Not a clue why.

The update would only fix issues with posts that were drafted *after* installing the update – so if you’re still seeing problem URLs, its possible that this is because the posts were created while the problem plug-in was in place.

The problem, ultimately, was that the draft post URL was being saved as if it were a short URL at the time the post was saved as a draft, so any post drafted while that version of the plug-in was installed will pass the problem URL.

Unless, that is, you’re having a completely different problem – which is always possible.

So I think I understand what you’re saying: so if I wrote and scheduled a post *after* I updated the plugin will work – ? I will check on this in the morning, then, as the posts scheduled this weekend were written after the update. Will check.

Yes, that’s what I was saying.
