URL not saving on publish

I am adding a new page inside of another page. If I add the page as a draft, and then publish the page from the page editor, the URL reverts to the root directory.
For example, I am creating the page “child 2” under “parent”:
Parent
child 1
child 2 – New page as drafthttps://www.example.com/parent/child-2
Now, when I click to create that new page in the tree view the page editor is opened. When I click “Publish”, the url becomes:

Viewing 1 replies (of 1 total)
