• Up until last week, my site travelswithmiranda.ca was showing up fine and I could log in using the wp-admin address.

Today, the wp-admin page is looping back to wp-login, claiming that I have the wrong credentials.

Five hours of troubleshooting later, my webhost can log in, but I still can’t access the admin panel. For some reason, the URL is now redirecting to the wrong IP address, which might be the one of my previous host. My current host was able to fix that on their side so they can log in, but I’m still getting sent to the wrong IP and looping. Is there any way that I can force the correct IP address? I’m not a novice user, so I can get in PHPMyAdmin or change code, etc.

    Thanks,

    Rae

  • If they can login and you cannot it’s a local machine issue (usually malware, but not always) Can you login from another computer?

Try cleaning up all browser cache, temp files, flushing DNS, running MalwareBytes in safe mode, etc to isolate an issue.

I’ve tried to log in with my Mac (main computer), Windows 7 PC, and iPad. They are all doing this. I’ve tried several browsers, too.

I’ve emptied the browser caches, temp files, flushed the DNS, and am not worried about malware.

I logged into the old host account and deleted the subdomains there. Now, when I go to travelswithmiranda.ca, I get the old homepage for uskeba.ca.

Yes, my nameservers were changed correctly to the new host. This is the second time this week that I have come across seemingly inexplicable cross linkage between the old and new accounts.

All my other sites under uskeba.ca (raecrothers.ca, full-time-rving-in-canada.ca and travelswithmiranda.uskeba.ca) are referencing the correct IP.

    Thanks for your reply.
