    Hello

When trying to establish the connection with FB by pressing the “Login with Facebook” button on the plugin page, I am redirected to FB but I am getting the message that the URL is not authorized by app config.

My set up is that WP sits on /public_html/wp, so when claiming the URL I asked for soeezauto.ma/soeez-blog, which is the URL for the blog.

Facebook then allocated both \\www.soeezauto.ma/soeez-blog and soeezauto.ma/soeez-blog, which seems correct, and that’s what appears on the plugin page on WP( https://www.soeezauto.ma/soeez-blog ).

    Thanks for the assistance.

  • Hi @soeezauto. Thanks for the feedback.

Can you check in the “Settings” of your Facebook App (https://developers.facebook.com/sa/apps/) if you’ve configured your URL into both of these fields?

    – App Domains
    – Platform > Website > Site URL

Those are necessary steps when setting up an app as well.

    Thanks Paulo

Ok, necessary but may be not so well disclosed.

I just tried that by adding the same domain,ie, soeezauto.ma/soeez-blog to both fields

Still, on the App Domains it will not accept it with the message that the App Domain should correspond to a few possibilities, including the site’s URL, which I believe it does.

Note that I am completely new to API’s generally and FB’s in particular.

I am not sure I should but I added the Facebook SDK code to WP’s body tag and tested it positively ( it is printing out the share buttons ).

Still it is not accepting the domain.

    Thanks

    Hi @soeezauto.

Thanks for the feedback. It’s been logged as a suggestion for improvements with the copy for better clarity.

You shouldn’t have to include the the Facebook SDK code anywhere. I think the error message you mentioned related to configuring the domain is because you don’t have to include the ‘/soeez-blog’ path after the domain.

    – So instead of: soeezauto.ma/soeez-blog
    – Just use: soeezauto.ma

There’s additional information regarding Facebook Apps in the docs here: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/apps/register#choose-platform

I hope that helps. I’m marking this issue as “Resolved” for now.
