• This is the weirdest thing and no search has come close to indicating a similar issue.

The site I am working on has a membership area. When a person is logged in all links work correctly.

When a person is not logged in, the word downloads has been added after the web address (www.domain.tld/downloads) to any absolute path link.

If the path was made relative, then the link is fine. This ONLY happens when someone is not logged in.

It doesn’t matter if it is an image path or a link. If the link is coded from the https:// this word gets added. If not, it is not there and the link works fine.

Assuming it is a plugin conflict I have deactivated all plugins, and the issue is still there!

    Totally lost on this one.

  • Did you look at .htaccess file? I can imagine that if one of the plugins had written to the .htaccess file, deactivating them wouldn’t help as the changes would still be there.

Try re-saving the permalink settings in wp>settings, too.

Yes I did. I deleted and re-created the .htaccess file under the same assumption you are making. Didn’t matter.

I also tried the permalinks change of settings.

I did a complete search of the database to see if this false address was stored anywhere, and I can’t find it.

    Quite puzzling.
