@elrondsmith How you designate a page to be the homepage of your site is not by clearing the value of the slug in the snippet editor. To set your home page, you would need to perform the following actions:

? In WordPress, go to Settings>Reading
? For ‘Your homepage displays‘ set this to ‘A static page (select below)
? For the ‘Homepage‘ value, select a page from the dropdown list
? Click the ‘Save Changes‘ button

?Can you please try the aforementioned suggestions and let us know whether this resolves your issue?

yea, i have static page set to homepage display. And my home page is set in dropdown.

But the home page is called (Главная) for example. So I will have sdgf%q3r some stuff like that in browser. and if I use tranlitera plugins i will have something like – glavnaja

But I dont want both results.. I dont want to have adress in search results like
    my-website.ru/glavnaja/
    I want just my-website.ru/

Is it possible to have clear label, cause its main page.. For other pages its ok to have label

    Hi,

Yoast outputs the slug based on the site’s set-up. We would expect this to be a non-Yoast issue.

If you visit the URL on the front-end does it show /glavnaja/ as part of the URL?

If so, something on your site is adding /glavnaja/ to the homepage as the slug, as homepages do not usually have slugs.

    1. Go to Settings-General and see if /glavnaja/ is listed as part of the WordPress or Site Address fields. If it appears, edit the fields to remove it. If you are unable to edit the fields or those fields do not appear, please contact your host provider to verify.

Note, that before making changes please ensure you have a backup. If you are not sure how to take a backup your host provider can help.

    2. If you scroll down on the page in the backend (or look to the sidebar) do you see a section that says slug? This would be some kind of non-Yoast field. See example for what it might look like: https://pasteboard.co/JgpIMqp.png. If you edit that field does /glavnaja/ drop off?

Note, that before making changes please ensure you have a backup. If you are not sure how to take a backup your host provider can help.

no I dont see it there.. Does it mean that in google search results it will be the same?

    Hi @elrondsmith,

Yes, Google sees the live URL and the canonical URL in the page source. If both of those are just the domain without the slug of the page, all is correct.
