Hello all. Hope you can help me with this issue.

I am currently using Yoast SEO for my sitemap. After editing and redirecting one of the URLs/pages, it does not show up in my sitemap anymore. Which is strange, since I haven’t no-indexed it. Other pages have been updated in the same way, and there everything is fine.

In Google Console it shows up as “indexed, no submitted to sitemap”. And still the page is ranking well in Google. Why is this? And how to add the specific URL to my sitemap? Will changes affect my SEO-ranking?

I am using the advanced box in the Yoast SEO-plugin for this.

Looking forward to hear from you.

    Hello,

Thanks for reaching out. We understand that https://4humanhrm.no/lms does not appear in your page sitemap, though it is not set to noindex.

First, can you please update the Yoast SEO plugin from v15.9.1 that you currently have to v16.1.1?

Good morning @maybellyne, thanks for the quick reply. Yes, that is the page that does not appear in sitemap.

Yoast SEO plugin is updated to 16.1.1.

Looking forward to the next step.

We checked https://4humanhrm.no/lms/ again and there is a 301 redirect. By design, a redirect created outside of our plugin will be excluded from the sitemap. So in this case, your redirected page is not included in the Yoast-generated page sitemap.

    Thanks

    Hello,

The Yoast SEO XML sitemap gets its content automatically generated from your posts, pages, categories etc. The plugin does not have a feature to add a third-party redirected URL to the sitemap. Unless it is a whole external sitemap, in which you can follow this guide – https://yoast.com/help/add-external-sitemap-to-index/
