Hi,

I have used custom sidebar for creating sidebars for each page on the website. When I click on a particular link on the right sidebar, I’m not able to see the URL in the address bar being updated with the anchor link. Please help!

I have created anchor links for each section that is on the right sidebar. I have set up the menu with the anchor links in them as well. I’m able to see the link on the left bottom portion of the screen when I hover on it, but when I click the link on the right sidebar, it takes to the particular portion of the page, but the link in the url of the address bar doesn’t get updated. However, when I try to open the link on a new tab, it displays the correct anchor link on the address bar.

I would like the link to be updated in the Address bar on the same page itself when clicked on. How can this be done? Is it possible?

Hi @bernicewebdesigner,

Is this issue specific to sidebars that are replaced with Custom Sidebars?
Could you create a test page with a default sidebar and anchor links and see if the issue is happening there as well?

Hi,

When I create a right sidebar (not using custom sidebars), the issue is still there. So is it a problem with the theme? I’m using Generate Press theme and Elementor Page Builder.

Please advise!

I trust you’re doing!

The issue is not related to teh Custom Sidebar as the problem still persists with the plugin deactivated.

Please have a backup pf your site and check for a conflict with a plugin and if the issue still there please contact the theme’s support team about it.
