    Have you tried:
    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?
    – setting your permalink structure at Settings/Permalinks in your admin panel to the default structure. If WordPress cannot automatically edit the .htaccess file, it will provide manual instructions after saving.

    Do you have any Posts?

    Hi and thanks

    I am using the default theme

    and I have set the permalinks to the default structure – no change

    I will start deactivating plugins

    Thanks for the suggestions – great response and I certainly appreciate it

    Do you have any Posts or only Pages? By default WordPress shows only Posts on the front page. Publish a test “Post” and see if it is shown on the front page.

    I have only pages – regular content pages plus About and a contact page

    I will create a post

    Thanks again

    You’re very welcome.

    keesiemeijer,
    My problem IS in the plugin. I’m using Advanced Featured Post Widget to display the most recent post on the top content area. Below it is another content area with 3 columns, each showing the next most recent post. All that works well on the home page and when mousing over the link, the correct URL shows. However; when I click the link it takes me to the most recent post, each time. Here’s how I set up the widget:

    {
    “offset”: “1”
    }
