URL for parameter URLs does not fit

    There must be some code that rewrites the url whenever there is a url parameter present

    This could be either js or php or else

    Have you tried disabling plugins and eventually switch to another theme?
    Remember to make a backup before trying this.

    If the issue at that point still happens, can you check if there is something in the htaccess that could be causing this?

    It is certainly not a “vanilla/default” behavior so the issue must be due to anything added into the default website as created by WordPress
    (Plugin, theme, code..)
