URL encoding issue!

I noticed a strange problem related to the plugin.
I am using categories with greek characters. WordPress encodes the category name in the urls like so:
https://www.mydomain.com/%cf%80%ce%bf%ce%bb%ce%b9%cf%84%ce%b9%ce%ba%ce%b7/In this case WP No category base works as expected.
However when i am copying and pasting the exact same link to another tab in my browser the link is encoded using the equivalent upper-case characters like so:
https://www.mydomain.com/%CF%80%CE%BF%CE%BB%CE%B9%CF%84%CE%B9%CE%BA%CE%B7/in that case WP No category base fails and a the 404 page appears.
Any ideas how i can solve this problem?
