Urgent: WordPress website unable to open

  • Hello guys,

    I have setup my wordpress website using AWS Lightsail. I have done the whole setup and linked my instance to a static ip. I was working for these many days using the same ip address. But, today since noon I am not able to view my website when I put in the ip address. It says site cannot be reached, took too long to respond.

    I have a deadline of tomorrow. Can someone please help me sort this issue.

    This does less seem an issue with WordPress and much more an issue with your server, DNS service or similar.

    If you have access to the FTP of your site you might be able to spot some errors in the error log, which could help further, however from what I read in your comment, the most likely is that there’s some issue with the Server/DNS uptime or reachability.

    Hi,

    So I stopped and lightsail instance and started again and now the website is working. But, a while ago I got a pop-up saying “Error Establishing Database connection”.

    Can someone guide me on how do I check what the error is at my server end and how can I sort it.

    The “ Error Establishing Database connection” could be because you restarted the server.

    To see if there’s an error on the server you’d best consult the server error logs (usually in some folder like var/logs or similar)

    The log might be quite long and hold several errors, so your best bet would be to delete its contents and then reload your website and read the logged error in case the issue happens again

    You can also try to consult with the host as perhaps they can help point towards any obvious error as well.

    Since this is most likely not an error due to WordPress the server hosting company would be your next “stop”
