    Hi there!

My Woocommerce emails were working properly, but stopped sending all notifications to admin and customers at some point last night/today. I have installed WP Mail Logging and placed a few test orders. The emails are being generated but they are not being sent.

I noticed that there is an “n” character with a space added in front of the admin email address * n [email protected] * and this is not correct at all!! How can this be? When I look at the email settings in Woocommerce, everything looks correct, but the mail log shows me that the email address is corrupt.

It did the same with my contact form so I deleted that plugin to see if it would fix the issue but it did not.

Please, any help asap is greatly appreciated as I put the site in maintenance mode and this is not ideal for our business.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi @sunsta,

Did you make any changes to your site last night? Like updating plugins or similar? Issues like this are typically caused by conflicting themes or plugins.

For more detailed instructions about conflict testing, check out this – How to test for plugin and theme conflicts.

Please let us know how that goes.

Hi @sunsta, Did you manage to solve this? We have the same problem with our 10+ Woocommerce stores. Order emails came in perfectly for the past few years, suddenly it stops working today. No updates have been applied in the past week.

Hi @danztric , same here. No I have not been able to solve this. I have done the troubleshooting, deactivating theme and plugins with no success. This is so gd frustrating, guess I`ll have to purchase a product from woocommerce.com to get some official support..

@sunsta, Looks like we have one working installation left. The only difference I can find with the working install is that the non-working ones use the Woocommerce REST api for order picking software.
It is indeed frustrating, especially since it just happened without us doing anything.

Kindly blur the email address but please share with us a screenshot of how this appears on the mail logs. You can use https://snipboard.io/ to share screenshots here.

Just to check further, when you go to the WooCommerce → Settings → Emails page and scroll down to the Email sender options, is the "From" address correctly written?

    Thanks.

    Hi @abwaita

Yes, the From address is correct.

Here is a view from the mail log : https://snipboard.io/hmaiOw.jpg

Hello, I had the same issues with my WooCommerce site and it started exactly 24 hours ago. No changes to the site.

1 hour ago I received the first admin e-mail again though (“New Customer Order…”) so I guess it has been fixed? I’m still not sure exactly and it could be that only that one e-mail got through.

There haven’t been any changes made and everything else is working and is up to date. I am using Flatsome + Siteground as hoster.

Hope it stays fixed and we can find out what the issue was, because this is a very scary problem when customers aren’t receiving admin e-mails all of a sudden.

@zhntam tnx for your feedback, happy you got your functionality back! Me, I am still experiencing the same issue, not cool at all. Something`s up if it not just my site that is experiencing this issue.

    Hi @sunsta,

    Thanks for the screenshots.

It seems that the \n you’re seeing before the second recipient’s email address is normal in the email logs. On my test sites, I’m also seeing it but the emails are coming in just fine.

Thus, since WooCommerce is correctly generating the emails, you’ll want to probe further their failed delivery.

I would recommend that you get in touch with your host to check further for issues in the email server or your SMTP provider if you’re using one.

For reference on troubleshooting email issues, kindly check this guide – https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/email-faq/

    Thanks.

Thank you for your feedback @abwaita , much appreciated. I have proceeded to install WP Mail SMTP and this is solving my problem!

@sunsta, @zhntam, I would like to report that it has also been working here since about 4 hours now, by itself. I haven’t changed anything. I’d still like to find out the cause so it doesn’t happen again in the future.
    Where are you all hosted?

    Hi @sunsta,

I have proceeded to install WP Mail SMTP and this is solving my problem!

Glad to know that you fixed this and our support documentation was helpful.

@danztric and @zhntam please open your own threads and we’ll follow up there.

For now, I’m going to close this thread as the original thread starter figured out the problem and solved it.

    Cheers.

I had the same error with multiple sites. After some research it seems WP Time Capsule plugin was causing the issue.
