Urgent – Widgets failing to update after server transfer

Hi all,

This is an absolutely desperate plea for help. We’ve been working on this website https://www.onechurchgloucester.com for months now and the go live date is Sunday the 3rd (less than 2 days from now). Everything was working perfectly on our test server so today we transferred things from test.onechur… to https://www.onechur… After a few linking errors we discovered that everything was working fine… Apart from the widgets.

For some reason when we edit a widget and click save it makes no difference to the home page. Then when we refresh the widgets page the changes that we had just made have mysteriously vanished. If you’re looking at the site, all the four sections on the bottom half of the home page should be filled with widgets but aren’t. We tried wiping them all clear and resetting them but that’s done nothing except remove what was there and refuse to let us update it.

We used the VelvetBlues plugin to do the linking update but it appeared this had little to no effect to most of the database, so we did some of it by hand. We’re not sure exactly when the widgets stopped working (i.e. before editing links in the database or after it) but absolutely nothing that we can do will fix it.

We’ve searched desperately through every forum entry and help page that we can find and absolutely nothing offers any solution passed what we’ve already tried. Please, please if you have any ideas at all we would really, really appreciate it.
