• Dear @roselldk

after we had problems using older version of plugin (images are not shown) we did the update to current version and activate the plugin. After this still no images were loaded (as before) on our our page. After deactivating still same problem. We deactivated than cache etc. and even deinstall your plugin still error exists. Were not able to fix that.

We are also delete htaccess rules from webP Express and so on…… Also server is running on high cpu usage and we receive several times 504 errors.

If I have a look in dev console the images are loaded with type html/ text.

Any idea to fix it? This is really urgent to find a solution…

    Thanks Marc

    Hi Marc,

Sorry to hear. What did you do to fix it?

    Hello,
I have the same problem and I don’t know how to solve it.

There are many images that can’t loaded.

I have also deleted and purged everything that has something with web express and it is still not working

Is there any fix for this problem?

@workious, is it exactly the same problem? Do you experience all the things listed by lmobile? Can I get the URL of your site?

    Hello,
we have a very common issue. When we have the .htaccess file in the wp-content folder, then our website doesn’t load any resources to the page (images, CSS, js). All the requests cause error 500.
But if we rename or remove .htaccess from wp-content folder everything works fine, except the fact that WebP images don’t load.
We contacted our hosting provider’s support, but they say that they don’t know which rule in the .htaccess file causes the issue.

Please, advice what to do? Maybe we can do some changes to the .htaccess file to fix the issue?

@nordskill: WebP Express tries to place its rules in a .htaccess file in the wp-content folder. If file permissions does not allow it to do that, it will instead place its rules in the root folder. You could place an empty .htaccess in wp-content and make it read-only. This will make WebP Express place its rules in the root. WebP Express will grunt about this when it tries to create .htaccess rules, but you can ignore this.
