Urgent! Plugin not working in Safari or on mobile.

To clarify, the issue that I am having is that when I try to click “Donate Now” in Safari or on mobile, it just sends me back up to the top of the page without executing the transaction.

Hi @larchmontdigital – I just checked out your site (which the donation form looks really good on BTW) in multiple browsers including on my iPhone 6 Safari + Chrome and also on my computer browser. Did you resolve the issue? It appears resolved.

Thanks so much for getting back to me quickly. I really like the work you’ve done, and appreciate your effort to help me resolve this.

So, after a closer look, this is what I’ve discovered:

In Safari (on both desktop and mobile),

1. If I do not enter the required fields (in this case, First Name and Email) and click the “Donate Now” button,” it does not give me the proper prompt, reminding me to fill out the required fields; it simply sends me back up to the top of the page. I tried allowing pop-ups; no change. I also tried unchecking the “Stop Internet Plugins” setting in Safari; no change.

2. If I type in my actual First Name (Marika), it says, Error: Please enter first name. If I type in my brother’s name (Colin), it works. I know my first name’s a little weird, but….. ??

Do you have any thoughts about why this might be happening?

I have OS X Yosemite / Safari 8.0.7, and I also tested in Safari 5.1.10.

Hey Marika,

I see what you are saying now. Thank you for your detailed explanation. We actually have a ticket about that located here: https://github.com/WordImpress/Give/issues/402 which is in the process of being worked out. Essentially, iOS/Safari doesn’t fully support HTML5 required attribute so the form WILL submit BUT you should see an error message, which is not displaying. I estimate the fix for this will be out in the next release. Please watch out for that! I’ll leave this unresolved until it’s completed and pushed to www.remarpro.com

I have the plugin up to date, and I’m having a similar problem as described above. It just started to happen after I updated to 1.3.4

The Donation gets stuck on mobile(using Chrome) and smaller screen computers. It gets stuck on “please wait” on submit button, then nothing.

Any ideas what could be causing this error?

Hi @marlenandrea – What’s your website URL?

I am having similar issue. On IOS either ipad or iphone it wont change donation type. It is set by default to paypal. If I try to switch it to offline donation it shows loading and just hangs there forever. And if you continue to try and make an offline donation on the IOS it takes you to paypal. Oh and I just noticed that it works on IOS on the donate page where its the only thing on the page. Its not working when its on the sidebars. Same using chrome and safari.
Go figure… Works fine on both of my pc’s
