Download WordPress again and re-upload the files.

Cheers for that, however thats what I have been trying to do but it doesn’t work

Did you just upload the files or run an install?

I tried to install WP3.0 aitomatic upgrade didn’t do anything so I tried the manual.

Made a complete mess of trying to delete specific folders as per instructions so I thought my webite is fairly new so I’ll just start again.

Deleted all my uploaded WP files and reinstalled them through the filezilla

now just get 404 error tried to access my webpage and admin

someone advised me to delete my sqq databease and start again from scractch so I created a new sql database and in change tha nem of the config folder and updated the Db details accordingly with secret keys updated still does not work.

I am all out of ideas and desperate.

I think I just need to start from scartch again but that doesn’t seem to be working either

If someone could give me some clear steps on what to do I would be so gratefull!

    Cheers

    Right I now get

    Error establishing a database connection
This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at db2567.oneandone.co.uk. This could mean your host’s database server is down.

Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
Are you sure that the database server is running?

This is probably because I created a new data base but I updated the wp-congig.php file with the database info?

Should I use my old wp-config.php file from my original WP download that I had up and running?

does anyone know if I need to create a new ftp user since a I have create a new sql

That shouldn’t be necessary but you might want to check with your hosts in case it’s part of their particular setup.

Doublecheck your new db settings in wp-config.php. 99.9% of the time, that error message points to a mistake in the database host, name, username or password details in that file.
