Urgent – My 13 WP Blogs are GONE!

    I host with Hostgator and yesterday my site(s) were hacked and totally destroyed. My databases are intact – I think. I had many sites (over 75), including 13 wp blogs. All of my directories are empty. Hostgator tried to recover them but failed. I orginally installed using Fantastico.

    How do I go about recovering my wp data – or do I? If I try to install a new installation it will wipe out the data I have, will it not? Several of my blogs go back over 2 years and I would hate to lose it all.

    HELP!

    If the databases are intact – all your data is OK: everything – posts, Pages, comments, settings are stored in the DB, not in files.

    You can check the existence of the data by using phpMyadmin or some other MySQL manipulation tool.

    If the data is there – just UPLOAD the WP files in the directories. DO NOT RUN THE INSTALL script! Repeat: do not run the install script – that would wipe out everything.

    Thanks much! I tried it on my most recent blog with only a couple of posts and it worked. Now to upload and activate all of my plug-ins, themes, revisions, etc.
