    message_for_recipient

I have this additional field – this is for a florist – and they have valentines orders to print today but I cant figure out how to make the message show in the footer – I have added [message_for_recipient] but all that does is show that in the footer – it doesn’t bring in the actual content. Please can you help urgently as its Valentines today and they will be printing any minute now in Miami.

    Thanks jodee

Hi! You can display custom fields with a small bit of code:
    Displaying a custom field

If you want a quick/easy solution that doesn’t require any coding, you could use our Premium Templates extension to place a custom block on the packing slip/invoice with your custom field. More information here: Using custom blocks.

    Hope that helps, good luck!

Where do I place this? I added it to the footer in the code editor for dispatch but it doesnt work – its php whereas everything in the code editor is html – please can you point me to the location for this code? I saved a template called Jodee but your article doesnt say where to add this code.

Note sure what you mean by “code editor for dispatch”, but there are several methods outlined in the documentation.

For the “With a template action hook” method you can how to apply it here:
    How to use filters

For the “In a custom template” method you will need a custom template (which is much more involved and overkill if you can just use the template action hooks):
