    Hi,

I needed to move a site I have completed to it’s new domain. It is hosted, unfortunately, on a windows server but has MySQL. I folloed the steps at this link: https://yoast.com/move-wordpress-blog-domain-10-steps/

All seemed to go well. The Main home page loaded fine but none of the links work – all I get is an error: ‘The system cannot find the file specified.’

The actual URL’s are fine – there are no extra /’s or .’s – it is driving me crazy. The site is currently using a placeholder index page so the public cant see the problems but can give someone access if they are able to help.

    Any help would be great,

    Thanks.

One thing I have noted is that if I change the default home page to any of the pages I have set up, it shows those pages. However, if you try and use their direct URL I get the error message.

It sounds like a permalinks problem. If your site is on a IIS server, check out:

Added: A quick way to determine if it is a permalinks problem is if the default permalinks work but pretty permalinks don’t.

Ok – just tested and default works so it must be a pretty permalinks issue. Am going to have to get onto the host as I don’t think I have that much access.

    You are a champion iridiax!
