PLEASE HELP, I updated my WordPress to the newest version 3.8, and it first came up with a message saying:

Warning: call_user_func_array()(/websites/123reg/… [function.call-user-func-array]: First argument is expected to be a valid callback, ‘_show_post_preview’ was given in on line 429

and said i needed to update the database, and a button to do so. when you clicked it said the same but update complete and a ‘continue’ button…when you pressed the continue button it just brought you back to the previous screen.

I think i may of accidentally deleted the wp-includes/plugin file in my web hosting control panel and now there is now NO wordpress screen, just an error that says:

Warning: require(/websites/123reg/XXXXXXXX/XXXXXX… [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /websites/123reg/XXXXXX/XXXXXXXXXX/publi… on line 72

Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘/websites/123reg/XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX/public… (include_path=’.:/usr/local/php52/share/… in /websites/123reg/XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX/public… on line 72

Someone PLEASE help?!?!??! And explain in a simple way? TNX!!!!!

  • There are a few solutions to this:

First login via FTP and replace your wp-admin and wp-includes folders with the previous one you were running(3.5,3.6 etc)A quick google search of “wordpress 3.5 download” or which ever you were on, download the core files and then copy over to your hosting via FTP(overwriting existing files) do not copy over the wp-content it will overwrite all content etc.

Once you try and login via admin it will advise to update your database, follow the instructions.

Let me know of that works
