Urgent Help, Cannot Access Blog at all

  • Hi Guys,

    Really need some urgent help/ support….

    Happily running my Blog, Updated my ‘wordpress backup to dropbox’ plug-in and now I cannot see my Blog at all.

    I get a message ‘Forbidden
    You don’t have permission to access /blog/ on this server’

    Very much an Amateur at this, what do I do?

    Any help very much appreciated.

  • Try:
    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme by renaming your current theme’s folder in wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress.

    Hi Esmi,

    Many thanks for the suggestions.
    I have tried all of the above, including uploading a full backup of my site via ftp.

    Nothing seems to work. The site does not respond other than a 403 error!

    What can I do now?

    Try renaming your WordPress .htaccess file.
