Hello, it seems that overnight the flexible shipping stopped working. We have gone through all threads related to this issues, checked all settings and they are correct. We even rolled back the plugin to no avail. Shipping cost is only calculated when a user is logged in. Please help!

    Hi @szch,

Such behavior undisputedly should not come out of nowhere. Were there any actions taken or updates performed (including the automatic ones) before you’ve noticed that shipping cost is calculated only for logged-in users?

Have you checked if this checkbox on the FS shipping method’s configuration screen has not been ticked accidentally?

Hello, thank you for your response. After exhausting all options we actually deleted the plugin and did a new install. There are still some bugs (wrong calculation of cost for certain products, checkout page freezing) but after the new install the shipping cost are showing.

None of our plugins have been updated over the last 24 hours. We also deactivated all plugins except Woocommerce and yours and the problem was still there so it was not a conflict. It was not possible to deactivate Woocommerce as we could not test the site without it.

The plugin has worked well for a couple of years but as mentioned it just started acting up between 5.00 and 8.00 PM this morning. We know this as an order was placed at 4.55 PM by someone who was not logged in and shipping was charged correctly. An order placed at 8.30 did not charge shipping cost and that is how we found out something was wrong.

The setting you indicate in your screenshot was not ticked so this could not have been the cause.

Is you site using any page builders like Divi, Elementor, etc. which might have an influence on the checkout template? As far as I remember we’ve been once notified about similar situation triggered by page builder’s auto-update. If you already excluded the possible plugin conflict, my second guess would be the theme-related issue. The same effect might be caused by the theme’s update run in the background if it overwrites the themes’ default checkout template.

Have you tried to reproduce the issue and placing the test order exactly the same way it was done when the problem occured in the staging environment?

Did it happen for all the orders or only for specific ones e.g. with products’ weight higher than X kg? Just asking to be sure that it is not caused by the price or weight range not covered with the shipping cost calculation rules.

    Kind regards,
    Luke

Hi, we indeed use elementor with our theme. Our theme has not been updated in the last 24 hours. we are however not able to check if elementor has been updated as its a core element of our theme. (we may assume that elementor can only update if we update our theme itself?)

Yes, we did. Same problem occurred.

It happened for all orders. We tested the site through several browsers, as well as on tablet and on mobile. None of the FS set shipping options showed, nor did the shipping calculator work on the cart page. We ship domestic and international and the shipping options for either simply did not show, unless logged in to the website as admin or as a customer.

Orders can’t exceed maximum weight so also this could have not been the cause. Shipping cost/options simply were not shown.

In case we have a similar issue in the future we’ll delete and reinstall, though this is not ideal!

    Hi @szch,

I totally agree that deleting, reinstalling and reconfiguring the whole plugin from the scratch is not a solution in such case. That’s why we kindly ask you to let us know as soon as the same problem occurs once again. We’ll need to take a closer look at the situation directly from the shop level then so the 1:1 clone or the staging site would be really helpful in order to not to mess with the live store.

    Kind regards,
    Luke

Since there are no further inquiries concerning this case I’m marking this thread as resolved.
