Urgent: feeds are failing basic XML validation

    Removed podcast:funding and podcast:location tags and it seemed to validate again. Strange but I’m ok with those gone.

    Glad to see you were able to find a solution. In the future, try castfeedvalidator.com to validator your podcast RSS feeds. This validator is modern and designed for podcast RSS feeds.

    Hi, just had same issue, my feed wasn’t updated on several “reader” like Thunderbird and several streaming services (Apple, Google Podcast…).

    Removing Location in Powerpress “Basic Show Information” resolved the issue.

    Maybe u should have a look there

    I’ve also been experiencing this issue. My podcast client is failing to update one of my podcast feeds with an error about an “unbounded prefix”.

    It appears the problem is that the powerpress_rss2_ns() function doesn’t add an XML namespace for the podcast: prefix. This causes strict XML parsers to fail if any of the podcast: tags (e.g. <podcast:location>, <podcast:funding>, etc.) are included (hence, removing them fixes the problem).

    Also, there have been several updates to PowerPress over the last couple days. Be sure you’re using the most recent version (8.5.2).

    I updated the plugin to latest just now. After the update, now I’m back to validation error that isn’t related to what I mentioned in my solution above. This time it’s related to this:

    xmlns:rawvoice=”https://www.rawvoice.com/rawvoiceRssModule/&#8221;

    I do think this issue isn’t related to my feeds, because they were validating in XML structure prior to the update.

    8.5.3 is out now. Bugfix for the bugfix. This should be the last one.
