    Hello,

i keep getting “error saving settings” when trying to save.. so i am trying to disable/uncheck “Issue an authorization on checkout, and capture later”

I have deactivate all plugins except woocomerse and stripe payment and change to default theme. And read every post regarding this problem and is NO clear solution. Still not working!

Is it possible to uncheck this box “Issue an authorization on checkout, and capture later” manually somehow thru database or something as this is URGENT for us!

    Regards

    Hey @birken

    Thanks for sharing that!

Can you please clarify if you currently have the “Link” Express checkout option enabled?

If so, can you try disabling this, saving the settings and then see if you are able to successfully disable “Issue an authorization on checkout, and capture later”?

    Looking forward to your response!

    Hi @birken,

It seems like the usual troubleshooting steps have not resolved your issue. However, have you tried deleting and reinstalling the WooCommerce Stripe Payment Gateway plugin? Didn’t it resolve the issue?

Although we don’t recommend doing it, you can search for the woocommerce_stripe_settings in the wp_options table. In the serialized array, you’ll see something like "capture":"no". Change this to "capture":"yes" and save the changes.

Please dont forget to take a backup of your site and database before making these changes.

Let us know how that goes for you.

thank you, yes i deleted and reinstall still not working. so Capture Yes mean that is turned off?
This is weird if i change to “Capture yes” then the strip is get disable totally please see screenshot and if i change back to No then i get everything back again. please see screenshot.

    ?? hey @birken

Just to clarify, did you already have an opportunity to go ahead with selecting Enter account keys (advanced), showcased here, and entering the keys like so, and see if the issue with settings not being saved persists, or otherwise?

If not, kindly try doing so, and let us know how it goes.

i have added the keys as you can see here https://ibb.co/DtsQHYn when i change to capture yes in database everything disappears..

Thank you for providing further information on this, @birken.

I’m curious, does it appear to be the same with all settings options for other plugins, or specifically with Stripe?

Additionally, kindly go ahead with enabling error logging, via WordPress, as detailed here, and share with us the logs using a service like https://quickforget.com/.

To clarify, logging will start after being enabled. Therefore, kindly enable it first, and then proceed with testing settings being saved, or otherwise, with any plugin — Stripe specifically, though.

We look forward to your response.

Hi, I just faced a similar bug on my development website, I searched for days, and I finally find something :

Even if you don’t use Apple Pay/Google Pay (even if the box is unchecked), go to “Customize” and check if one of the 3 options is checked for the “Button appearance” section (Small / Medium / Large).

Selecting one of the options and then saving finally unlocked my problem.

I’m not sure it will be your problem, but give it a try.

    Hi @maxtab,

Thank you for sharing the workaround and taking the time to create a bug report. Our developers will check the issue soon. They’ll share any insights they uncover, or they’ll release an update to resolve the problem.

    Cheers!

Thank you both @birken and @maxtab for the solution. It helped me with the same problem. The bug is in the Google/Apple pay.
