Uptime Robot showing site down.

    Hi,
    I’m using “Uptime Robot” to monitor the status of my sites. If “Under Construction” is enabled, Uptime reports the site is down. I have ensured that I am sending an http query rather than pinging the server.

    Any thoughts why the response from the “Under Construction” page should be interpreted as “down”?

    Hi,
    When active, UCP sends out the “503 Service Unavailable” header in order to tell search engines that your site is under construction and that real content is coming soon. Since the site is not responding with a 200 response code (expected by any monitoring service) it’s reporting it as down.
