Uptick in spam comments?

    Anyone else notice a pretty big uptick in spam comments on their site? No changes in config made but getting way more spam comments than the previous weeks. I’ve tested to make sure that the captcha in the plugin is still working and I wasn’t able to leave comments without completing the code properly.

    Not really looking for full troubleshooting here, per se, just wondering if I’m the only one seeing this increase or not.

    1. Please make sure you don’t have any post type with comment form which is not supported by wpDiscuz. Go to Dashboard > Comments > Forms admin page edit comment forms and make sure it’s enabled for all post types. There maybe a post type with comment form but without wpDiscuz.

    2. I’d recommend install Akismet, it has free plan too. And try the wpDiscuz Google reCAPTCHA addon.

    Yeah, there’s nothing crazy going on with post types, and I’m only getting the spam comments on regular posts, which is really all that the site has.

    I’ll look into running Akismet, and may end up pulling the trigger on the wpDiscuz bundle, depending on a few things.
